Do You Know Jesus?

"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6, NKJV)

You have probably heard of Jesus, even if you're not a Christian.  The truth is, God loves you and longs to have a personal relationship with you through His Son Jesus.  Because of sin, we are separated from God and are spiritually dead.  However, God loves us so much that He provided a way for us to connect with Him by sending His Son, Jesus, who never sinned, to die in our place as payment for our sin. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  (John 3:16, NKJV)

You can begin a personal relationship with God right now.  Confess your sin to Him, turn away from your sin and call on Him to forgive you and give you everlasting life.  The Bible says, "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13, NKJV)
If you are ready to make this choice, you can express your belief and desire to Him by praying a prayer similar to this one:

"Dear God, I understand that I am a sinner, but I believe Jesus died for my sins.  I now turn from my sins and turn to You for forgiveness of my sins and I accept Your free gift of everlasting life through Jesus.  Thank You for forgiving my sins.  Thank You for my new life.  From this day on, I will follow You and Your will for my life."

If you chose to begin a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus, please share your decision with another believer.  If you would like to talk with someone about your new life in Christ, please give us a call at 843-236-2224.

Baptism by Immersion

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20, NKJV)

Baptism does not save us but is a way of publically professing our faith in Christ, after we are saved.  It's often said that baptism is an outward expression of an inward change.  Baptism by immersion is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.  When we are baptized we are "buried" by being submerged in the water, and we are "resurrected" when we rise up out of the water to begin our new life in Christ.

At Forestbrook Baptist we baptize believers as needed.  If you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior and would like to be scripturally baptized, please call the church office at 843-236-2224 to schedule a consultation with the pastor.  He will be glad to answer any questions you may have and to set up a time for you to be baptized.

Christian Service

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve...." (Mark 10:45, NKJV)

To enable Christians to do the work of the ministry God gives every believer at least one spiritual gift at the moment of salvation.  These gifts are tools by which the Holy Spirit ministers through the believer to build up the Body of Christ (the Church).
"If you are not sure what your spiritual gift is and would like to learn more, you can take a free online Spiritual Gift Analysis at Team Ministry

It's one thing to study and discover your spiritual gifts.  It's quite another to put these gifts to work.  If you know your gift and are looking for an opportunity to use it, we have ministries in need of volunteers.
