Step 1:  Admit that you are a sinner.
As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Romans 3:10, 23

Step 2:  Believe that God loves you and Christ died for you.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  John 3:16; Romans 5:8

Step 3:  Confess the Lord Jesus Christ.
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  Romans 10:9-10

Step 4:  Accept Christ as your personal Savior by sincerely praying this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner. I believe that you love me and that Christ died on the cross for me. Please forgive me for my sins, cleanse me of all unrighteousness and save my soul.  Thank you for saving me as you promised you would. Now help me to live for you from this day forward.  In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
